To put it simply I found this a really likable refreshing read. This story is a nice blend of paranormal romance and chic lit. Although this book is not fast paced, it never felt like it dragged, and I think this is because it captures your imagination right from the first chapter. I wanted to know what was happening to Gracie, and then once I found out I wanted to know what she was going to do with this gift, and then I wanted to know how she and gorgeous Dan, the man just like her, were going to end up together. In addition to this you have an interesting back story about what has happened to Gracie, and then once I found out I wanted to know what horrible things had happened in her life I wanted to know what she would do next. The story really was paced well, with a good mix of finding out about Gracie's past and about her new talent. The romance between Dan and Gracie was lovely, it was not rushed, there was a real build up to it. I also liked the world building, I don't really want to give much away about this, but it was a really refreshing concept, and was explained in an entertaining way.
Another plus for me was the fact the book ended, and the story was wrapped up. I like that. When a sequel comes out I will read it, as this was a likeable book with likable characters. One small note, other reviewers have mentioned that this book is set in London, and there are some `British terms', yes this is true, but honestly nothing major. I actually would have liked to have seen more of London in it (but I have lived there), for me this was the most disappointing part of the book, that the places where not described more. But I can live with that.
Will I read it again? Probably

I got this book for free and finished it in two days! It's an amazing book and I couldn't put it down! I would recommend it to anybody!
I enjoyed the novel. I embraced in the creation of the complicated characters. The 'back-story' of how they all came to be was a little weak in my opinion. Love the hesistant protaginist in this story, he is luring me in. The male main characate, Dan, is growing on me, even though I should relate more to the main female perogative in this novel due to the physical abuse aspect of it all. Overall, great first novel if she is a 'newbie', if not, push forward & make it happen!
I read the whole thing in one sitting. A unique plot &believable characters really pull the book together to make it stand out from others!( I will definitely read the next book.
Good book. Different kind of paranormal story. Storyline is set in London which is no big deal but some words are strange. Easy to read and it keeps your attention. Recommend.

Wouldn't it be great to be able to get inside someone's head to see just what the hell they're thinking? Think about it before you answer. Consider the possibilities. See what I mean? Wouldn't you like to try that at least once? Of course you would, and that is just what the principal character does to protect souls. This well written tale with a slightly different twist on a very unusual supernatural power leaves me thinking of so many great possibilities that could come from "reading" minds. The best part of it is that the characters are very normal, even likeable and the story flows so easily that you'll want even more after it's done.
I was a little hesitant at first when I started this book. The caption was that she would fall in love with her kidnapper. And my first thought was that it's one of those girls who fall for the bad guy when she shouldn't. blah, too many of those going around.
But I was glad that wasn't the case at all. Granted, there is not much action in this book so if that's what you were looking for, you might not like this book.
I actually enjoyed getting to know Gracie and how the author revealed little by little each time. I was a little apprehensive of her first, but she kind of reminded me a little of Bridget Jones', how she had to figure out how to make herself happy and not rely on anyone or anything else. Although, not as funny.
Only negative I had with the book was her relationship with her sister. Normally, sisters don't say "I forgive you" and that's the end of it. A lot of times the forgiveness is never really said and you have to slowly build that relationship back up.
But other than that, I would recommend this book and I have gotten the sequel.
