I agree, this topic is taboo with a lot of romance readers, but I'm definitely not one of them. So many women will boycott a story dealing with adultery because it's wrong in their eyes, yet they'll also read dark or BDSM stories and would never dream of doing that in real life. I think this story is exactly how a lot of women feel but are afraid to voice and I thank Stylo for writing it. You never know how you'll truly feel unless faced with a similar situation. Mischa did approach things wrong. She should have been honest up front with Michael. But she wasn't and things happened. Oh boy did they happen and happen real good. I want a Tal of my own! I was not prepared for the whopper of a secret either. Such a good story and should not be missed, even if you disagree with this topic. Reading these situations can also help you understand how these situations occur or keep it from happening in your own marriage. Treat it as research and don't miss reading this really good story, about an affair.

I can respect how certain people don't appreciate the concept of cheating. What I don't understand is why take deserving stars away from an author that has beautifully written a taboo subject, that is very much a part of our society, and everyday life. Most of us have cheated or will eventually do so, to some degree. There are innocent cheating, while others are more malicious. Rather we may have cheated on something minor...or on someone, possibly even at ourselves, the act in itself isn't as virgin to anyone's character as some of us hypocritically pretend to be. I "personally" believe "it" to be a very real possibility in life, every now and then we all go through emotional imbalance... all it takes is to be faced with the perfect storm of a situation, at the precise time of an ideal inviting opportunity...no one is immune to it, as long as life breathes within you and temptation corners all your surrounds, you all have vulnerable moments. We are all flawed humans beings. Life has taught me day in and day out that every finger someone immaturely pointed at others or even when silently judge in their heads, has or will come back to point at themselves in the future. Life rotates at a vicious circles... events may happen to "others" first and we quickly jump into premature conclusions... but it may just be in full speed toward our way to whack us in our own butts, and then it wont be as judgmental enough or as wrong in our eyes any longer. I loved this romance...it has earned my 5 STARS. it is so truthful and realistic that i am willing to bet there are millions of people living unhappily & wasting their precious life right now, just because they are afraid to act upon their hopes, dreams...wishes and desires.
Even though it's obvious as to what this book will be about, do not let it deter you from reading it if you avoid cheating in books at all costs. I would say go ahead and make an exception for this one. I've read some heart wrenching stories about infidelity before, and I would say that this one is fairly low on the angst factor, but still manages to capture both the beauty and the ugliness of the whole situation. Having said that, I loved this book! Mischa is heading overseas by herself as part of her job to do an extended assignment that starts in Rome. I could completely relate to her. She was in a marriage with a great guy but they didn't have the kind of chemistry that made her feel desired and he wasn't reciprocating on her attempts to improve the quality of their relationship. For someone who is pre-meditating on cheating, that speaks volumes about where Mischa's head is regarding the future of her marriage, she has her reasons for not ending it sooner and I really couldn't blame her even though it didn't justify anything.

Tal, oh wow, Tal, he was a force to be reckoned with, consequences be d*mned. I love how he and Mischa first meet. He is very captivating, direct, perceptive, sexy and unapologetic. He is the sort of man who goes after what he wants, is impossible to embarrass, and is also a bit of a loner. He's an opportunist, too, so when he sees Mischa, he already knows what she needs and capitalizes on the situation because it benefits him as well. Although they were meant to go their separate ways, they keep coming back to each other and feelings begin to seep in.

Mischa started to come out of her shell as Tal pushed her, but Tal could also be tender and sensitive when necessary, yet he would never make excuses. Mischa regained a part of herself that she hadn't seen for a long time. Despite sharing some of the most intimate parts of themselves, what they have together is not meant to be permanent. Something built on lies, no matter how amazing, can only crash and burn.

People aren't always what they appear to be on the outside and while Mischa put herself in a situation that created self-loathing for her, I still advocated for her because she was so transparent about everything, she didn't try to dodge the blame. When she was at her lowest point, she still had Tal's unwavering love and affection because he was willing to fight for her and for them no matter how unfeasible a future together would be.

After everything is said and done, can Mischa rebuild herself and believe in the authenticity of what she had with Tal? Can she forgive, be forgiven, and be happy again? Definitely a worthwhile read!

When her boss gives her the chance of a lifetime to work in Rome, she finally sees her chance to break free! She loses weight, and gains a new confidence, but when she gets to Rome she quickly loses her nerve. But, fate has other plans, and it comes in the shape of a tall, dark, and dangerously sexy man named Tal.

Like most readers, I usually steer away from any aspect of cheating in the books I read, but this story is the exception. This story is so much more than I thought it would be, of course at times I was uncomfortable with the heroine's choices, but in the end I understood why she made them. I really felt that Mischa and Tal were meant to be, even though they took the wrong road to get there. The author was very honest and didn't varnish over or make excuses for the characters actions. Add to that a twist I didn't see coming, this is a well written and exciting story that I can't recommend enough.
